Overview

The Master’s in Music by the Lakshminarayana Global Center of Excellence (LGCE) is an advanced, performance-oriented programme designed for musicians seeking deeper artistic refinement and academic engagement. With focused specialisations and a strong emphasis on performance, research, and global music perspectives, the programme prepares students for professional careers as performers, educators, and scholars, while also enabling progression to doctoral studies and international opportunities.

The programme is led and supported by an exceptional team of artists and educators, including Dr. L Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, Dr. Meera Rajaram Pranesh, Bindu Subramaniam and Ambi Subramaniam of the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SaPa), and Hari Ravikumar. Your learning experience is further enriched through collaborations with leading international institutions such as the Norwegian Academy of Music and other academies in Europe and the USA.

Eligibility

Applicants should have completed a Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, or any recognised undergraduate degree) from a recognised university.

A strong foundation in music and performance experience is essential. Candidates are required to submit performance recordings as part of the application.

Merit-Based Scholarships

As part of its commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians, the Subramaniam Foundation will award one merit-based scholarship each for the BA and MA programmes. These scholarships are offered to students who demonstrate exceptional potential and dedication to their musical journey.

Selection will be based on a comprehensive assessment of the applicant’s musical training, skill, and artistic promise, with the aim of supporting students who are ready to deepen their practice and build meaningful careers in the field of music.
